The beautiful and talented Greg Hartley worked in the meadow for several hours over the weekend. He's a mighty, mighty man and we love him.
The Scoop:
CAMP FIRES: Fire danger is very high, so we won't have a camp fire, but we are tentatively planning to burn small fires in the Hamfist barrel. It doesn't generate a lot of heat, so bring warm clothes for the cool nights.
FOOD: Please bring a pot luck item to share at dinner; plain or fancy, large or small, doesn't matter. Bring your own breakfast, lunch, snacks and drinks. I'm planning to make Asian noodles, veggies and fish on Friday, Asian noodles, tofu and veggies on Saturday. Dog Boy will NOT be barbecuing this weekend. Anyone who wants to step in and cook a hunk o' meat will surely be lionized.
COOKING GEAR: The outdoor kitchen has prep tables and drinking water, but no refrigerator, oven or stove. There are two Weber grills and a propane grill to share. There are plenty of forks and plates; several spatulas, tongs, mixing bowls, chef knives and plastic cups; one big cutting board, one big coffee pot, one dutch oven and one soup pot for boiling water. There are very few bowls and spoons. There are often several camp stoves on the tables, but it's a good idea to bring your own.
Let's see, what else do you need to know? The weather report is calling for high 80s and breezy; perfect. Disc golf usually tees off around 10:00 a.m., byo discs. We also have bocce ball, horse shoes and a couple of golf clubs. You're welcome to practice your drives as long as you don't bean a disc golfer. Unfortunately, the Slip N Slide is a long shot this year; too many other projects going on.
